Bed Bumps is an Early Reader book, ages 2-7 or 8, depending on reading skills, with some memories for adults as well. Hidden jewels of wit and humor for adults as well. Included are Fun! learning and interactive pages at the back of the book for teaching skills and creative outlets. Parents can make copies and have kids draw, color, and respond to the reflective activities. Rhyming fun and learning variations of sounds and spellings with some fun and wily homophones. As a teacher, the author incorporated needed reading tools for kids. They learn plurals, verb ending changes, homonyms, homophones, and more.
Monika Rose, at home in the foothills of Calaveras County since the early 1980s, founded Manzanita Writers Press, a nonprofit literary publisher in Angels Camp. She is published in several anthologies and literary magazines. Her book of poems, River by the Glass, by GlenHill Publications, will have company soon with a novel, a collection of short fiction, and three more children’s books. She is Adjunct Associate Professor at San Joaquin Delta College. Her inspiration for children’s books stems from early adventures with her children, a love of nature, and exploring the curiosities and puzzles in life that keep her inner child alive.
